Happy November!
I hope everyone has their power back and made it through our storm in good shape! In our shortened week, we worked on the following:
NOVICE I -
We finished our cultural work on the celebration of "Día de los muertos" (Day of the Dead). This included two videos and some discussion on the modern customs as well as the ancient Aztec traditions that preceded to current celebrations. We also made and decorated "calacas" (skeletons), which are common festive symbols of the holiday.
We continued our work on our new unit which focuses on the verbs "caminar" (to walk) and "correr" (to run) to help us learn how to use verbs in the present tense. We practiced some individual sentences and started learning how to change verbs into different forms. We also took our second self-assessment on the Respect HOWL Standard.
